BIBLIOGRAPHIC COMPILATON ON CORRUPTION IN NIGERIA 2010 – 2013

PREFACE
The bibliographic was compiled to present a view on corruption in Nigeria. However, the main purpose of the compilation is to have a good record of the recent and present of corruption exhibited in Nigeria and to keep the entire society informed. Especially, those who have been in one way or he other fighting in order to stop or eradicate corruption in all its ramification in our society. it will be of much benefit on the body directly involved such as EFCC, ICPC. Police and also government and government agencies, judiciary, legislators (law makers) and also other that are numerous to be mentioned.

This compilation will be very beneficial to the entire society especially the student and lecturers who may wish to carry out a research on the subject matter. The entries that make up to the subject matter. In the beginning, it serves as if what goes up can never come down, due to difficulties encountered at the cost of writing this project but to God be the glory for seeing me through.

DEFINITION OF THE TERMS
1        CORRUPTION
          Corruption can be defined as “the abuse of public for private individual or groups to whom one owners allegiance. It occurs when a public official accepts solicits or extorts payment or when private agents offer a payment to circumvent the law for competitive or personal advantage.
TYEPS OF CORRUPTION
1        BRIBERY AND CORRUPTION
Bribery is the act of promising, giving or agreeing to receive money or some other items of value with the corrupt aim of influencing a publci official in the discharge of his official duties. When the money has been offered or promised in exchange for a corrupt act, the official involved need not actually accomplish that act for the offense of bribery to be complete. It is the payment sought by public official or offered by private agents in return for favours such as government contract.
