PROPOSAL
AIM: To show all what the project work will entail that is what the project works is all about.
THE TOPIC:
THE EFFECTS OF RADIO PROGRAMMES ON TEENAGE PREGNANCY IN RURAL COMMUNITIES
(A CASE OF ERUWA COMMUNITY)
THE INTRODUCTION:
          The right way to deal with a problem is to first understand and analyze the issue involved.
          In the same vein, in our attempts to propose effects of radio programme on a particular social decadence relating to teenagers, teenage pregnancy in rural community. It is then become imperative to look into media so as to know their functions and effects on teenagers in rural community.
          According to S. Adedokun, The Traditional Functions of Mass Media (Radio) are to inform, educate and entertain the masses. Later Dennis Masque added few other function of media (Radio) Viz, Surveillance of environment, moulding of people’s opinion, correlation and coordinating of fact among others.
Having said all these it is necessary people are exposed to various social vices on every mass media so, based on the above review. It is notes worthy that (Radio) through tier programme have the tendency in one way or the other to exerting influence on the audience.

THE PURPOSE OF THE STUDY:
          The purpose of the study is to find out the effect and impact of radio programme on teenagers pregnancy in rural community.

THE OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY:
i.        To find out the level at which radio programme educate and orientate the rural dwellers (Eruwa) about teenage pregnancy.
ii.       To find out the impact of radio programme on the people residing in Eruwa.
iii.      To find out specific role programme play on the spread of teenage pregnancy in rural community.

THE RESEARCH QUESTION:
i.        Does radio programme have any impact on teenage in rural community (Eruwa)
ii.       What is the level of teenagers knowledge in rural community (Eruwa) about dangers associate with teenage pregnancy?
iii.      Does radio programme educate rural (Eruwa) on danger associated with teenage pregnancy?
iv.      Does radio programme decrease the spread of teenage pregnancy in rural community?
v.       What impact does the non-governmental organization played on the life teenagers in rural community (Eruwa).
THE RESEARCH METHODOLOGY:
          The survey research method is used to carry out the research. A survey research is the best suited for descriptive research to learn about people knowledge, belief, preference and satisfaction as well as to measure their magnitudes in general population.

THE SCOPE OF STUDY:
          The purpose of the study is to find out the impact of radio programme on teenagers pregnancy in rural community.



ABSTRACT
          It has been discovered from findings of this study that Radio programmes play inevitable and indispensable roles towards reducing the spread of teenage pregnancy in rural community.
          In the course of this study, survey research method was used to elicit information surrounding the views of the sampled population of the subject. It has been discovered that radio stations, government at level and non-government organization have help in reducing the spread of teenage pregnancy in Eruwa community. They have been able to do this through transmission of some dedicative, instructive and informative programmes about risk and dangers associated with teenage pregnancy.
          Programmes like “Laberigi” features on BCOS Fm and “Abule Olokemerin” features on major FM stations in South west.
          The research has also revealed that radio programmes about teenage pregnancy will be more effective if there are community radio stations in Nigeria. However to a greater extent, radio programmes have helped greatly in reducing the spread of teenage pregnancy in Eruwa community.
